The first step of printmaking is drawing a sketch of what you want you stamp to look
like. Then you draw it on your square of linoleum. Then, you find your carving tool and carve out the parts of your picture you want to be white. I traced around them first and then wiggled the tool to take out some linoleum. Then when everything is cut out that you want white, you can find your two colors of paint and take the first color and spread a tiny bit on the sheet. Then you take the brayer and spread the paint around until it becomes tacky and looks like snake skin. Then you take the brayer and roll it over your stamp and stamp it on your paper. Then you wash the stamp off and go over it with your other color of paint. You repeat this step as many times you want. I am most proud of the final prints, but i dont have a picture to show you. |
